Leg injury
We are still struggling to understand the stupid way our boat just flew up in the air a few meters high, and landed over the roof of one of the buildings in our yacht club.
Regrouped, rigged up our second boat, and went back to training as soon as possible.
18 knots, summertime, and champagne sailing, we went into a gibe, and in the middle of business, I heard Marito shouting “my knee!!!!!!”…
We stopped, managed to put the kite down and asked our coach to get Mario of the boat. It was quite difficult to move him out as he was in a really strong pain.
I sailed back to the yacht club, trying to keep the mast off the water, as I had to sail downwind to get to the club entrance, while our coach took Mario to the club to get some medical attention.
Shit happens… Mario had his knee injured, and needs surgery tomorrow in order to start the rehab before thinking about sailing again, at least until mid January.
Somehow, it’s nice to end this year, hoping to start with the right foot on 2014.
